About Us
The Potter's House Christian Fellowship Church of Syracuse is part of a worldwide fellowship of over 3,000 churches, most of which are outside the United States. We are a local church with a global vision to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ into every part of the world.
Vision
In 1970, Pastor Wayman Mitchell (our Fellowship's founding Pastor) moved to Prescott, Arizona to assume the pastorate of a small, struggling church. Soon thereafter, dozens of young people began giving their lives to Jesus Christ out of the Jesus People Revival, and the church in Prescott began to grow exponentially.
God began to show Pastor Mitchell a vision for reaching the world with the Gospel, and it involved 1) Local evangelism, 2) Restoring the dignity of the local church, 3) Discipleship, 4) Church planting and 5) World evangelism. Over time he began training men with hands-on discipleship to prepare them for ministry, and sending them out to pioneer new churches. Beginning with nearby cities, they eventually began extending their reach to other states and eventually, other nations.
Mission
Our church in Syracuse is an extension of the investment and vision of the Potter's House in Prescott, AZ.
Pastor Matt and his wife Sarah were discipled and trained for ministry in the Potter's House church of Rochester, NY before being sent to Syracuse in 2021.
Their mission is to see lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ, disciples trained for ministry and the world reached with The Gospel!
